This study compares the Clavien-Dindo classification (CDC) and the Comprehensive Complication Index (CCI) in retroperitoneal sarcoma surgery in assessing the real burden of post-operative complications on both post-operative length of stay and total costs of hospitalization. The CCI resulted to perform better than the CDC in describing the overall burden of complications after RPS surgery, both for clinical and economic purposes.
